A New Blog

Although I haven't finished with the sixties yet, most of us baby boomers never really got over that decade, I've started a new blog, aimed at the times we are living through now. It's called Hard Times.

How wonderful!!! SOMEONE who remembers Frankies Market (and Modells) I was born in Teaneck, lived in New Milford, Hackensack, and Little Ferry but most of my childhood was spent at Frankies where my mother would dump me while she did god knows what. Do you remember seeing a small girl behind the counter at Freddy's pizza there? That would be me. I also ran errands for Phil the butcher, Mary the egg lady and ALLWAYS collected my quarter for eating the hot peppers at Shimmy's pickles, which I promptly spent at the used magazine guy's stand for old issues of Mad and Famous Monsters. I even remember meeting Frankie himself. I sold him a piece of a dollar bill that I had found for 50 cents. (cute kids get away with murder.). I don't mean to blather but it's just that I'm so thrilled to find someone else who remembers a place that was a big part of my childhood. Thanks for blogging and feel free to get in touch as it is a whole other world up here in New Hampshire. Liz

Holy Name Hospital

I tried to read them but grownups would stop it because they said it would give me nightmares.
